Brenda Ketter is the founder, owner, and director of Dance Etcetera. She has been involved in dancing and twirling since the age of 8. She has spent many years performing and competing in local, state, and regional shows and competitions. Brenda was the majorette at Wayne High School and went onto coaching feature twirlers of Bethel High School, Stebbins High School, and Dayton Christian Schools. She has been a certified coach with the United States Twirling Association since 1979 and is a USTA certified competitive judge. Brenda has held the office of the President and Secretary of the Ohio Baton Council and is now the current Treasurer. Brenda had been teaching for over 25 years and is the creator of Twirl Magic competition baton twirling team and soloists. Her twirlers have traveled to Florida, Georgia, Texas, Minnesota, and Iowa to compete in the National Baton Twirling Championships of USTA. She has trained her students in dance twirl, solo twirling, two-baton, basic march, and military marching. She has also had 16 queens crowned in the Miss Twirl of Ohio Pageant and had instructed her pageant contestants in modeling, interviewing, and show twirl. Brenda is the mother of three, working a full time job at InstantWhip, and is a new Grandma of a Future Dance Etcetera Member.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! We would like to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.

All of our teachers and students are working very hard preparing for our 2012 Dance Recital. Your teacher will son be sharing with you their costume selections.

Christmas Break- The studio will be closed starting December 23rd until January 1st.

DANCE CONVENTION - The MVDTA Dance Convention on November 6th was a great success. Thank you to those teachers and student that attended this amazing event. They continue to keep updated on the latest dance and technique of dance.

COSTUMES - Please keep in mind you have been billed a $25.00 per costume deposit and the balance will be on your next statement and MUST BE paid in full in January. If you wish to skip the deposit, you may pay the entire balance in January. ALL COSTUME FEES ARE DUE by January 27th, for us to order your student(s) costume.

RECITAL FEE - REMINDER if you have NOT PAID Your Recital Fee yet, you will need to before December 31st, as the price goes up to $50.00. Again, the Dance Recital is NOT mandatory performance, but we do charging everyone to try to be a part of this great performance. If you do not plan to participate, please drop a note in the payment box.

COMPETITION DATES 2012 - BATON Dates are: Edgewood on 01/22, Minster on 02/26, Minster 03/18, Edgewood on 04/15, State @ Nutter Center on 04/21 - 04/22, Regional @ IN on 06/15, Nationals on 07/12 - 07/14 DANCE Dates are: Nexstar on 02/24 - 02/26, Encore on 03/17 - 03/18, Masquerade on 04/27 - 04/29, Applause on 05/04 - 05/06.

Weather Watch- THis is an important time to mention our policy for closing due to bad weather. We will attempt to get the closing posted on the T.V. or radio, but sometimes this can be very difficult. We will do our best to get a message to you if we cancel classes. If we can get to the studio, we will leave a message on the answering machine. Unless the road are impassible, we will remain open. WE DO NOT always close just because the schools are closed. Many times the roads are clear by our class time. If you feel unsafe driving, it may be your choice to make up your class on a different day. We hardly ever close due to weather!
