Brenda Ketter is the founder, owner, and director of Dance Etcetera. She has been involved in dancing and twirling since the age of 8. She has spent many years performing and competing in local, state, and regional shows and competitions. Brenda was the majorette at Wayne High School and went onto coaching feature twirlers of Bethel High School, Stebbins High School, and Dayton Christian Schools. She has been a certified coach with the United States Twirling Association since 1979 and is a USTA certified competitive judge. Brenda has held the office of the President and Secretary of the Ohio Baton Council and is now the current Treasurer. Brenda had been teaching for over 25 years and is the creator of Twirl Magic competition baton twirling team and soloists. Her twirlers have traveled to Florida, Georgia, Texas, Minnesota, and Iowa to compete in the National Baton Twirling Championships of USTA. She has trained her students in dance twirl, solo twirling, two-baton, basic march, and military marching. She has also had 16 queens crowned in the Miss Twirl of Ohio Pageant and had instructed her pageant contestants in modeling, interviewing, and show twirl. Brenda is the mother of three, working a full time job at InstantWhip, and is a new Grandma of a Future Dance Etcetera Member.

PIE PEDDLER FUNDRAISER

Please make sure all Pie Orders are turned in by November 10th.

And, ALL ORDERS WILL NEED TO BE PICK UP ON NOVEMBER 22nd with time will be determine.

*Warm Up Orders are Now Being Taken*

We are currently taking order for Studio Warm ups. This is a great gift for your dancer, twirler, or acrobat. This is the only order we will place this dance season and we hope to have them in by Christmas. Each set is approximately $95.00, depending on how many orders we get. If we order at least 12 sets, we will get a discounted price. There is a sample jacket in the studio lobby on display and we will have samples in next week to try on for sizing. You may order a jacket only for about $75.00.

WEATHER WATCH

As we are approaching winter, what a better time to let everyone know our policy for closing the dance studio.

Unless the road are impassible, WE WILL REMAIN OPEN. We do not always close just because the schools are closed. Many times the roads are clear by the time our classes start. If you feel unsafe to drive, it may your choice to make up your class on a different day.

We will attempt to get the closing posted on Channel 22/45 or on the radio, but sometimes this can be very difficult. We will do our best to get a message to you if we do cancel classes. Please also try to call the studio. If we are able to get to the studio, we will leave a message on the answering machine.

DANCE CONVENTION

We had 2 students (E Ballard & A Lowe) and 4 teachers attend the convention this weekend. They are very excite about bring back new dance materials to the studio.

Costume Deposits

There is a $25.00 Costume Deposit due this month and is showing on your November Statement. Please note there is a deposit for each costume your student is in. The balance of your costume(s) are due by January 21, 2010.

RECITAL FEE INFORMATION

Even though our classes have just begun, we are already preparing for our 2010 Dance Recital. Our staff is very excited and have been very busy making plans and selecting music.

We are planning to hold our annual recital the beginning of June at Wayne High School Auditorium.

At this time we will be collecting the $40.00 per family recital fee so we may secure this location and date. The recital fee will help cover any expenses incurred to put on our annual recital. WE DO NOT SELL TICKETS, so you can invite as many people as you would like.

We will announce the date as soon as it is secured.

The recital fee most be paid by December 31, 2009 or the fee will be $50.00 after December 2009. Our recital is not mandatory, but please let us know before December 31, 2009 if your student(s) will not be performing.
